A Plant Medicine Retreat for Deep Heart Healing

April 10–18, 2026 · Santa Elena, Costa Rica

A combination Sacred Plant portal and heart-healing immersion, designed to help every participant dissolve emotional barriers and return to love, softness, and soulful connection. Come rediscover your heart in the most magical setting, guided by Kat Courtney, a woman with 20 years of experience in the Shipibo-Conibo lineage, alongside a gifted team of trauma-informed facilitators and indigenous-trained healers.

Working with sacred plants like Ayahuasca opens pathways far beyond the mind, dissolving the defenses and emotional barriers that keep us guarded, tense, or disconnected from love. With intention, humility, and the willingness to be an open vessel, this process awakens extraordinary healing within the heart. Whether you’re grieving, longing for connection, feeling shut down, or simply ready to rediscover joy and softness, Mother Vine and her heart-centered sisters — Bobinsana, Rose, and Cacao — offer profound medicine for emotional restoration. This one-of-a-kind retreat weaves the deep teachings of these plants with the compassionate guidance of Kat Courtney, a ceremonial veteran of 20 years in the Shipibo-Conibo lineage, and a gifted team of indigenous-trained, trauma-informed facilitators.

We all carry a tender inner heart, one that longs to feel safe, open, and connected. Heart healing isn’t about perfection or spiritual bypassing. It’s about returning to your truth, softening the protective layers, and letting your natural warmth come back online. In this immersive retreat, we will use the teachings from each ceremony to gently unravel the places that have been hardened by life. Through guided rituals, embodiment practices, integration circles, fire ceremonies, and nature-based healing, you will learn to listen to the heart’s intelligence and allow it to speak again. This is an opportunity to integrate the medicine deeply, release stored emotions, and remember the love that has always lived within you.

This retreat includes 3 Ayahuasca ceremonies, 1 Bobinsana ceremony, 1 Rose ceremony, 1 Cacao ceremony, a traditional Temazcal, waterfall walks, heart-opening teachings, and daily integration. We offer a balanced mix of ceremony, emotional processing, rest, and nature immersion. This experience honors the tender healer inside each of us; it’s not about being spiritually advanced or emotionally perfect, but about reconnecting to authenticity, vulnerability, and resonance. If you’re longing to drop out of your head, into your body, and back into the heart’s truth, this retreat was made for you.

Your journey includes full preparation support and four weeks of integration after you return home. We will walk with you in community as you reintegrate the teachings into your daily rhythm and relationships, grounding this healing into your life.

All PMP retreats are dedicated to safety and intentional care. This adventure features six powerful heart-centered ceremonies, daily Rapéh offerings, a traditional Temazcal, a tree-planting ritual to honor the land, guided nature walks, and deep integration spaces. We create a beautifully safe and nurturing container so you can fully surrender, explore the depths of your heart, and experience profound emotional and spiritual healing.

This retreat was everything I hoped for and more! From the amazing staff and accommodations to the absolute dream team for sacred plant ceremonies! I am blown away by the way PMP holds their ceremonies! So much love, safety, integrity, magic! By far the best group of people I have sat with. I am beyond grateful for this experience, for the magic of the plants, for the plants, the safely held container, the new friends/family, and ALL of the healing and lessons I get to take with me. PS don’t skip the Temezcal it was an amazing experience as well 💗 Everything was so well thought out and put together and I’m already planning when I can come be with this beautiful group of people again! Gracias 🙏

Absolutely off the charts! The accommodations and facility was above and beyond what I expected. Everything was exceptionally clean and the food was phenomenal. The location was also stellar with what it provides and its beauty. This is second to the All-Star team of space holders for the retreat. Each one of them is an exceptional human with expert skill sets. I would return in a second. Highly, highly recommended!

Day 3 - April 12th - After breakfast, the first Temazcal ceremony is offered for group 1, while group 2 will take a walk to a nearby waterfall. We will enjoy lunch, and then connect as a tribe to prepare for the first Aya ceremony, which happens later in the evening. After the ceremony circle is closed, we will light a spirit fire and invite folks to end the night in the vibration of this magical element.

Day 4 - April 13th - After breakfast, we will offer heavenly flower baths, working with our intentions and connecting with the land. We’ll then have our first workshop with Bobinsana, focused on healing the pain in our hearts around how the world is not what we expected it to be. We will also work to cultivate more self love and compassion. After dinner, we’ll come together for an integration circle, then get a good night’s sleep.

Day 5 - April 14th - The second Temazcal and waterfall walk is offered after breakfast, and then later in the afternoon, we will have personal interviews in preparation for the second Aya ceremony, scheduled for the evening.

Day 6 - April 15th - After breakfast and morning flower baths, we’ll have a lovely lunch, and then we will have an integration circle and give more language to the magic that is transpiring. We'll have more personal interviews, and dive into the third and finally ceremony with Aya that evening.

Day 7 - April 16th - Breakfast, morning flower baths, and time for rest will begin our day, and then after lunch, we will have a glorious heart-healing ceremonial workshop with Queen Rose. This experience will focus on honoring and healing past relationship wounds with friends and family. We'll have a nourishing dinner, an integration gathering in the evening, and a good night's rest.

Day 8 - April 17th - On our last day as a family; we will have a celebration with Mama Cacao - a magical heart-opening experience to complete our sacred time together. Then we will give back to the land in a beautiful tree planting ceremony. We’ll have a delicious celebratory dinner that night, and a fire ceremony as a grand send off!

Day 9 - April 18th - After a final breakfast and a chance to honor the incredible retreat staff, we will hop on a shuttle back to the San Jose airport. We encourage everyone to book flights home no earlier than 2:30 pm local time to ensure plenty of time to make our flights. What Makes This Retreat Special:

  • Authentic and Experienced Leadership – The Plant Medicine People team will guide this deeply heart-centered journey, led by Kat Courtney (medicine name Oshgu Mishy), a Western woman trained for a decade in the Shipibo-Conibo lineage with over 20 years of ceremonial experience. Kat is supported by a gifted team of compassionate, trauma-informed, and indigenous-trained facilitators who hold a profoundly safe and nurturing space for emotional healing.

  • Intimacy - We have a maximum of 30 participants; enough to make some lifelong friendships, but a small enough container to feel seen, safe, and supported. 5 PMP Staff members will be on hand to take care of the tribe.

  • Personal Connection - Everyone who comes will get a one on one connection with the facilitators. In many other ceremony cycles, sitters have very little opportunity to connect with the people that lead ceremonies in a personal way, and yet that is one of the core elements that helps people feel safe. There will also be lots of opportunities to ask questions and connect with the practitioners throughout the retreat.

  • Menstruating Women Welcome - Many retreats and ceremony circles forbid women on their moons, but the PMP team understand how to work with these energies. Women in all phases of their cycle are most welcome.

  • Safety - All participants discuss health and medication concerns prior to the retreat so as to ensure body, mind and spirit are ready for the adventure. The team assembled are also well trained to help folks through difficult processes, and everyone will have the support they need. Safety is our number one priority.

  • Preparation and Integration - The price also includes a 30 minute preparation call and four 60 minute small group integration calls with one of our trusted team members so that you have the support you need before and after the adventure. For those that need one on one support after the experience, that will be available as needed too.

  • Location - Completely private, lush landscaping, stunning/sweeping views, and the most attentive, heart-connected staff you will ever encounter!
